Sulphur Experts is a privately held company established by John Sames and senior partners in 1997 to provide ongoing expert engineering and technical support to the gas processing and refining industries. Corporate governance and management has evolved since that time as dictated by both the size and financial success of the organization. The company follows accepted codes of business conduct and ethics in managing its day-to-day operations. It has established an internal management structure based on its regions of operation and product lines. The company is governed by a Board of Directors which maintains a number of external directors, including the Chairman.

The Board of Directors of Sulphur Experts meets quarterly to review the Business Plan, approve the annual budget and review financial and operational performance of the subsidiary companies. The Board consists of 7 members, three of whom are external directors.

Sulphur Experts is a registered corporate member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA) and governs its business in accordance with its Permit to Practice under the Engineering, Geological and Geophysical Professions Act. We have established a Professional Practice Management Plan in accordance with APEGGA guidelines and follow strict procedures to ensure the technical quality of our work. Sulphur Experts’ engineers are registered professionals and follow the requirements for professional practice under their respective associations in Canada, the United States and Europe. In addition, our senior technologists are members of the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta and have been certified to practice their skills based on a combination of education and work experience.
