John
A. Sames,

John is recognized
worldwide as an authority on sulphur recovery, particularly in the field
of process optimization. His company, Sulphur Experts Inc., (and its
predecessor Western Research) is focused on the efficient operation of
sulphur recovery plants in oil and gas applications and has gained a
reputation as the leader in process knowledge and plant evaluation. He has
co-founded a sister company, Amine Experts, offering similar services
to amine processing plants.
John has been involved in every aspect of the
optimization of sulphur recovery over the past 23 years, initially working
in a large gas plant in northern Alberta, and for the past 20 years at
Western Research.
John is the author of over 25 technical papers on
various subjects relating to sulphur recovery and is the co-author of the
definitive text on the subject. He has presented the Western Research
seminar on Sulphur Recovery more that 110 times at locations throughout
the world.

Bruce
W. Klint,
B.Sc.Chem.E., P.Eng.

Bruce has
been directly involved in all aspects of the process engineering
consulting work conducted by Sulphur Experts (and its predecessor
companies) for 12 years. He has provided expert advice and consulting
services in the area of plant inspections, testing and plant optimization
for the sour gas and oil refining industries. This includes working on
plant optimization projects in more than 150 operating facilities around
the world.
Bruce is also one of the primary speakers at Sulphur
Experts’ (Western Research) world recognized Sulphur Recovery Seminar
which has been presented at nearly 100 sites around the world. He has
primary responsibility for coordinating and completing all engineering
tasks related to Western Research’s sulphur plant simulation package Sulsim®
which is recognized as the premier simulation package for sulphur recovery
in the industry.
Prior to joining Sulphur Experts, he spent 6 years
operating, designing and constructing both upstream and downstream oil and
gas facilities including: well head equipment, pipelines, gas treating
units, sulphur recovery units and gas compression equipment.

Mike
H. Sheilan,
B.Sc.Chem.E., P.Eng.
Senior Consultant

Over the past eighteen years, Mike has been
involved in all aspects of the Natural Gas Processing Industry, primarily
in relation to the chemicals used to treat gas and the processes that use
these chemicals. He has provided expert advice and consulting services in
the area of hydrate control, gas dehydration, gas and liquid sweetening,
hydrocarbon recovery and sulphur plant operations. Most recently, he has
focused on plant troubleshooting and plant optimization for the sour gas
and oil refining industries. This includes working on plant start-up and
optimization projects for more than 100 facilities around the world.
Mike is also one of the Advisory Board
Members for the world-renowned Laurence Reid Gas Conditioning Conference (LRGCC)
at the University of Oklahoma. He has been published in the Oil and Gas
Journal and he has presented papers at various conferences including the
LRGCC, NACE, and CanEnergy. he is recognized as a leading authority on gas
processing in Western Canada and has performed training for most of the
major producers in the industry.

Egbert
van Hoorn,
B.Sc.Chem.E., MBA.
Senior Consultant

Egbert has a reputation in Western Europe as a problem solver for amine
plants and it is this skill that he applies in his position as senior
consultant for Amine Experts in Europe. Egbert has a 17 year history with
Shell International in the Netherlands and France, with Comprimo and later
with Huntsman working on troubleshooting, testing and start-ups of
hydrotreating, Merox, hydrocracking, sour water stripper and amine units.
With Huntsman he was technical service manager for Europe, Middle East and
Australasia. He has also worked as technical manager for Fenysco a company
specializing in solving chemical problems for the oil and gas industry.
Egbert is known as a
trouble-shooter and a trainer and it is in these capacities that he has
recently joined Amine Experts.
Egbert is fluent in Dutch, German and French.

Ben H. Spooner,
B.Sc.Chem.E., P.Eng.
Process Engineer

Ben Spooner has joined Amine Experts as a process engineer
amine plant trouble-shooter. Previously working for one of the large amine
suppliers for the past 5 years, his experience is in the field as a trouble
shooter Ben will provide onsite assistance to our team of Amine Experts
internationally, and will undertake trouble-shooting, simulation and
optimisation studies in his own right.

Ruth
J. Fike
Executive Assistant

Ruth has been
primarily involved in coordinating Amine Experts and Sulphur Experts'
Seminars for over 10 years. Ruth also plays an integral role in the
preparation of the engineering evaluations that are done by Amine and Sulphur
Experts technical staff.
